A little guidance for your daily Chinese practice.
What is included for free?
You get 20 complete starter lessons, favorites, review, and all four Home Screen widget styles. Daily lessons rotate through the starter pack. Pro is a one-time purchase that unlocks the core 1,000-lesson collection, topic browsing, and full-collection review.
How do I restore Pro?
Use the Apple Account that made the purchase, then open Settings and tap Restore Purchases. An internet connection and access to the App Store may be needed. If the store is unavailable, try again later. For billing or refund questions, use Apple's purchase support.
Can I learn offline?
Lesson text, search, favorites, and review are bundled and work offline. Pronunciation depends on the Mandarin voices installed on your device. Purchases and restoration need the App Store.
Why can't I hear pronunciation?
Turn off Silent Mode, check your volume and audio output, and make sure a Mandarin voice is available in your device's speech settings. Voice quality and offline availability vary. The lesson remains available to read if speech cannot play.
How do I add a widget?
Open the app once. Touch and hold your Home Screen, choose Edit and Add Widget, then search for Chinese Idioms Almanac. Choose Gallery, Study, Columns, or Ink in Small or Medium size. iOS controls widget refresh timing; opening the app can refresh its shared lesson data.
Why didn't my reminder arrive?
Enable Daily reminder in the app's Settings and choose a time. Allow notifications in iPhone Settings. Focus modes and notification settings can delay or silence delivery. Reminders are local and do not require an account.
Can I move my progress to another device?
The app has no account or cloud sync. Progress is saved on this device. Your Apple backup settings may restore local data, but the app does not provide its own transfer service. Pro can be restored separately using the same Apple Account.
How do I report a lesson issue?
Include the idiom, the Chinese script you selected, the sentence or explanation in question, and the correction you suggest. Lessons are source-checked, and corrections are welcome. You do not need to send your learning record.
